Feature Update: Duplicate SKU issue resolved

Being a Multi-channel online seller, it’s very important to keep duplicate SKU problem at bay. Orderhive tries to eliminate the possibility of duplicate SKU from base level as it restricts the duplication of SKU entries while you are adding a product in Orderhive back-end or importing the product details through CSV. This way you can make sure that you don’t use the same SKU number across multiple products.

However, this problem still happens to occur in the case when the Orderhive users import the products details directly from the selling channels like Shopify, CS-CART, eBay etc.

Duplicate SKU makes inventory control, replenishment and competitive repricing almost impossible. Orderhive has therefore incorporated some SKU management features which enable you to

• Detect duplicate SKU

• Remove duplicate SKU

• Assign new SKU to the existing products

• Resolve SKU mapping across multiple channels

 

Detect duplicate SKU

This feature improves online stores inventory management by reducing the duplicity of SKUs. Orderhive automatically identifies already existing duplicate product codes ( SKU ) across the channels and display it against the selling channel.

 

 

Resolve the duplicate SKU issue

Once Orderhive picks-out the products with same SKU, you can replace the SKU no with unique ones. With the “Action tab” in the below image, you can edit the duplicate SKUs and reassign them new unique ones.

Once you assign a unique SKU code to the product, a lot of your problem with managing inventory will get resolved.

Kindly Note:  With all the listed duplicate SKU, except one product you can apply the unique code to rest of the products for a particular selling channel. Also, this functionality is not applicable for Amazon (Both Merchant + FBA), Magento REST, Magento 2.0 and Houzz platform.

 

Resolve SKU Mapping – Mapping SKU of the products across different selling channels

Orderhive automatically performs product merge when the SKU is same across the channels. You can also perform a product merge from Orderhive backend when the SKUs are different, however, in the case where the SKU ( product codes ) are duplicated in a particular channel, the products are not automatically merged.

In the case of duplicate SKU, Orderhive doesn’t automatically merge the product, you are required to first assign a unique code ( new SKU ) to the product and then can map the SKU across the channels. Through the “Resolve SKU Mapping Tab” you can map the SKU and merge the product.
