Glovo is a fast-growing on-demand delivery app across the globe with reach in about 20+ countries. The app makes it easy for consumers to order anything online right from food and groceries to medicines and alcoholic beverages.
Glovo is a Spanish company that has recently received funding of $513M from 28 investors globally. The company has successfully acquired 5.5 million users and partners with 16,000 companies operating across 125 cities in 22 countries worldwide.
Obstacles/ Challenges faced by Glovo
As mentioned earlier, Glovo has spread its wings across continents and it is definitely no joke to maintain such a huge number of partners and serve the customers in various countries. A strong backend system is required to record and manage all customer orders.
Initially, the company was delivering orders in Spain and other parts of Europe but as and how they started delivering outside Europe, things became challenging. Collaborating and sharing order information with various courier and business partners in real-time to satisfy the customer’s order became a cumbersome process.
Another biggest challenge for Glovo was to manage huge data of all the orders, business partners, and restaurants from different countries. Since, they started with delivering food, groceries, and pharmaceuticals within Europe, Africa, and South America primarily.
As Glovo started offering its delivering solutions to remote places in underdeveloped countries, it became a challenge to partner with small courier services. Integrating with them was not possible due to a lack of technical expertise.
Innovative Solution by Orderhive
Being a start-up they started looking for a complete end to end solution that can manage their warehouses, courier partners, and business partners so that they can cater to their customers efficiently.
In such a situation, Orderhive came to their rescue. Orderhive could easily maintain records of all their orders country wise and manage their warehouses as well.

Glovo successfully integrated their woocommerce app with Orderhive and features like shipping labels helped them to process their shipments quickly by simply segregating the orders by labeling the shipments as per their countries and or as per the item’s category.
But that’s not all, Orderhive has this unique feature that was quite important for Glovo and most of the SAAS based solutions in the market were missing it. The feature is FTP automation.
