Shipments: Customize your packaging while creating a shipment

The introduced feature isn’t really new to Orderhive, rather it has just got an enhancement so that it becomes easier to use.

There had been various feedbacks wherein the customers requested an easier way to customize the packaging, which earlier was done from the ‘Settings’ menu. The below-shown GIF will help you understand how it was done.

The customers of Orderhive requested the team to offer a feature wherein a customized packaging would be done easily, within the shipping module. And this is the reason why the entire packaging feature is duplicated and can now be used from both the modules i.e. ‘Shipping’ as well as ‘Settings’.

Now, for the overly sized products or very small products, wherein a different sized packaging is required.

Follow the below-mentioned steps to know how to do it, or to do it for your next shipment.

Log in to Orderhive and go to the ‘Orders’ module.

As you go to the ‘Orders’ module, select an order and click on the ‘Ship’ button at the bottom.

There will be a pop-up, simply click on ‘Next’ at the bottom.

Under the ‘New Shipping Label’, you will see options like ‘Carrier’, ‘Packaging’, ‘Signature’, ‘Ship on’, etc. From those options, click on the drop-down of ‘Packaging’.

At the bottom of the drop-down, you will find an option of ‘Add Custom Package’. Click on that and you will be asked to put in the dimensions of the package. Once the dimensions are all set, save the custom package and it will be all set to be used.

I like that you added this feature but I don’t want a new package force saved into my current package list. If it adds to the list than the list gets overpopulated and you have to many options to select when selecting your normal packages. This will only get used when I need a rare custom size package that I don’t ship often. I would prefer to be able to manually enter the dimensions without creating any package type or choose a pre saved package type.

Hi James! When you add another customized size to your packaging type, there will always be an option of either editing it or deleting it. So, just in case if you feel that there is a bit of hassle created because of the overpopulated list, you can always try deleting the custom packaging that you added after it is shipped. As you mentioned that it would be easier if you manually add it, you can do the same as I have suggested above. Please do let me know if you need any other sort of assistance, we will be happy to help!
